Day 7 – The Near Miss That Woke Me Up
I was almost a victim of my own comfort.
One late evening, I was on-site, reviewing a structure. I stepped backward, unaware of an open trench behind me.
No signs. No barriers.
One more step and I would’ve been gone.
Someone shouted. I froze.
Just in time.
That moment changed everything. It reminded me that injuries don’t always come with warnings — sometimes, they only come with regrets.
We often get used to our environments and let our guard down. But safety isn’t a routine — it’s a mindset.
Near misses are silent teachers. Learn from them before they become tragedies.
Let’s stay alert. For ourselves. For each other.
