Day 24 – The Uncovered Well
In a quiet rural community, 8-year-old Abena was playing hide and seek with her cousins.
Laughter filled the air — until it stopped.
Abena had stepped on a wooden plank covering an old well.
It gave way.
She fell in.
15 feet deep. No cover. No warning sign.
It took hours for help to arrive.
She was rescued — cold, bruised, and shaken.
But many others haven’t been so lucky.
Open pits, wells, and trenches are hidden dangers in many communities.

👀 Monitor children’s play areas
🗣 Report unsafe structures to local authorities
If it can swallow a child — it must be covered. Period.
