Day 29 – The Construction Site Shortcut
Kojo was late for work.
Instead of using the main road, he took a shortcut through a construction site.
He jumped over a rope barrier.
Walked past a pile of gravel.
Didn’t see the open trench ahead.
He fell in — twisting his ankle and cracking a rib.
No helmet.
No signs.
No safety.
Construction zones are not shortcuts. They’re danger zones.
🚧 Always obey construction site signs and barriers
🛑 Never walk through unauthorized areas
👷🏽 Site managers must enforce access control
🔦 Work areas must be well-lit and clearly marked
🗣 Communities should be sensitized about nearby hazards
Safety isn’t just for workers. It’s for everyone who might pass by.
