Day 20 – The Mask Was on the Table
During a routine inspection at the processing plant, Kojo entered a chemical storage area.
He didn’t wear a mask.
“It’s just for two minutes,” he said.
But within seconds, his eyes burned, his throat tightened, and he collapsed coughing violently.
The fumes were invisible — but their impact was instant.
He spent three days in the hospital.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is not optional when it comes to hazardous environments.
It doesn’t matter if it’s one minute or one hour — exposure is exposure.
👷🏽♂️ Always check signage
😷 Always wear the right PPE
🚫 Never assume you’re safe without it
🗣 Always speak up if safety gear is unavailable
The gear you leave behind may be the one thing that could save your life.
