Day 11 – Gas Leak Horror
It started with a faint smell.
Auntie Efua was cooking banku when she noticed the gas burner was flickering strangely. She ignored it — thinking it was a low flame.
Minutes later, a spark from the match she struck caused a loud boom.
The kitchen door flew off. Her clothes caught fire. She suffered second-degree burns across her arms and neck.
A leaking cylinder had filled the kitchen with gas — and one small flame was all it took.
Gas leaks don’t shout. They whisper. And if you don’t listen, they explode.
Here’s what to do:
If you smell gas, don’t light anything.
Open windows and doors.
Turn off the cylinder.
Leave the area and call for help.
Gas is useful — but deadly when disrespected.
Your nose is your best warning system. Don’t ignore the signs.
