The journey of life.

We’ve probably heard that it’s hardly a straight line. Instead, it’s a mix of curves and U-turns.

This means we should not feel disheartened if things don’t go according to plan; in the end, we’ll be able to see how the line connects.

However, how should the line be? When should it curve? How many curves, bumps, and turns should we expect?

How should our life look like?

Truth is, whatever shape your life turns out to be, the line of your life not made up of lines.

But dots.

And each dot represents your present moment.

Quite simply, what we need to do is to make the most out of the present moment we have.

To try our best.

Where this moment takes us, wherever the next dot may be – ahead, to the left, to the right, or even backwards – we then do the same thing when we get there. We experience the next dot. And the next.

Our goal is to keep moving. As long as we move, we continue creating dots.

The dots will connect and form our own lines in life, whatever the eventual shape may be.

As Steve Jobs said, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future”.

So today, right now, is another moment, another dot in your life. As psychologist Alfred Adler said, we should dance our best in every moment life gives us.
