Internship Experience at ECG Bekwai
My internship at ECG Bekwai was a very interesting and rewarding experience. As an Electrical Engineering student, I learned a lot about power distribution systems and fault detection.
I got the opportunity to learn about insulators, cable sizes, conductors, transformers, and other electrical equipment used in the field. Working with the Fault Team also helped me understand why power outages can occur in homes even when there is no general blackout. Some causes include phase failures, jumper cuts, fallen conductors, and other network faults.
One of the most memorable experiences during my internship was getting the chance to climb an LT (Low Tension) pole. At first, I was a little scared because it was my first time climbing such a height, and I was worried about falling. However, with proper safety procedures and guidance from experienced technicians, it became an exciting and valuable learning experience.
This internship allowed me to bridge the gap between classroom theory and practical fieldwork. I am grateful to ECG Bekwai and the Fault Team for the knowledge, support, and experience they shared with me.
