Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited (CNML) is a subsidiary of Shandong Gold Mining Co. Ltd., which is duly listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE). CNML is developing its’ primary asset located in the Upper East Region of Ghana with a strategic vision to build a world-leading, highly valuable and responsible world-class gold mining enterprise.
Job Purpose
To ensure the company operates in full compliance with applicable laws and internal policies, while maintaining effective communication and coordination with government authorities, regulatory bodies, legal advisors, and other external stakeholders.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Compliance Management
- Monitor the company’s compliance with local laws, industry regulations, and internal policies.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating internal compliance procedures and manuals.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure regulatory filings, licenses, and permits are obtained and renewed in a timely manner.
- Support internal and external audits related to compliance matters.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance documentation and correspondence.
- External Liaison & Government Relations
- Act as the key point of contact between the company and government agencies, regulatory bodies, and local authorities.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with relevant stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and approvals.
- Coordinate and support inspections, site visits, and external evaluations.
- Track changes in laws and regulations and advise the company accordingly.
Visa & Immigration Support
- Handle visa applications and immigration formalities for expatriate staff and visitors, including business visas, visa on arrival, work/residence permits.
- Liaise with immigration authorities, embassies, and relevant government agencies to ensure timely and compliant visa processing.
Legal Liaison Support
- Assist the Compliance Manager in coordinating with external legal advisors or law firms on compliance-related matters.
- Support the preparation and review of legal documents and ensure timely communication between internal teams and external legal counsel.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare regular reports on compliance status, risk issues, and government interactions.
- Maintain a database of official correspondence, approvals, licenses, and permits.
- Support the preparation of legal or regulatory response letters as needed.
Training & Awareness
- Assist in organizing compliance training sessions for staff.
- Promote awareness of company policies and ethical standards among employees and contractors.
Required Skills or Experience
Minimum qualification (s)
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Public Administration, Business, or a related field.
Experience (Minimum)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a compliance, legal, liaison, or visa-related role
Knowledge (In-depth)
- Familiar with mining industry related regulation and act.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of local regulatory and immigration procedures.
- Experience interacting with government offices, embassies, and legal firms is highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in English and the local language.
- High integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
